Starter BanjoDec 14, 2007 Thought I'd pick it up again after 30 years -- was never very good.
Unfortunately, mine arrived without the bridge (the piece that holds up the strings centered in the drum), and nothing else save the warranty and one page on adjusting the neck bow. For those new to banjos, usually you get assembly instructions and adjustment wrenchs. Assume someone left out that part of the shippment.
FOR THOSE NEW TO BANJO, don't mess with it until you get one with a bridge -- it's "defective".
Otherwise, really nice wood: good-looking rosewood neck (with inlays), peghead, and heel. Solid wood drum and head cover provide real value. Fifth drone string could be improved. Crome hardware OK but cheaper and may not hold up (likely to pit). Cheap strings, but replacement is a minor cost.
Overall looks like a good value based on contruction. Of course without a bridge, I have no idea how it plays. Really disappointed.
