Description:

Most karaoke systems are great for crooning over pre-recorded music, but not so good if you prefer a live flavor. Enter the VocoPro GigMaster. An ideal fit for both karaoke enthusiasts and performing musicians, the GigMaster features a pair of dedicated 1/4-inch guitar and keyboard inputs. By connecting live instruments to the device, musicians can create live karaoke soundtracks that generate a more spontaneous feel, or they can add guitar and keyboard lines to existing recordings, negating the need for a rhythm section at backyard parties. The GigMaster is also equipped with a multiformat DVD/CD player, a digital karaoke and instrument mixer, and a 180-watt amplifier--all enclosed within a sturdy six-speaker road cabinet with casters and an extendable handle. The wheels make this portable unit an ideal choice for small-venue gigs, but also for home parties, outdoor performances, and other applications. Each vocal and instrument channel includes its own volume control, so it's easy to develop a good mix with just a few adjustments. Musicians can further fine-tune the mix using the seven-band equalizer and the 13-step digital key controller, which changes the key of your preferred background music (regardless of the source) to match the natural range of your voice. Other vocal enhancements include digital echo, repeat, and delay.

Like all karaoke units, the GigMaster connects to a TV to display lyrics through the CD/DVD player, which is compatible with CD, DVD, CDG, VCD, MP3, CD-R, and CD-RW formats. Digital photographers can also use the device to play JPEG slideshows. And should these features seem too limiting, musicians can expand the system by connecting components to the external speaker jacks, RCA outputs, or even the ultra-clean XLR balanced audio outputs. Make no mistake, though, the GigMaster is a substantial piece of equipment by itself, with overall dimensions of 23.25 by 34 by 16.25 inches (W x H x D) and a total weight of 70 pounds. If you enjoy jamming with friends but also love to sing, wheel out the GigMaster and let the good times roll. .

5great KaraokeMay 03, 2008
This is a great all in one karaoke system to carry anywhere. I like the rollers and handle and the box has a hole in the botton to place it on a speaker stand. It also comes with two great mics, cables and some assorted karaoke cd's to get you up and running in no time. It's a little noisy with the cooling fan going all the time but that's not a real issue considering the fact that it keeps the system cool inside while you're jamming.Great equalizer to tune your vibs to the environment.

1Do NOT buy this unitOct 27, 2007
I bought the Gigmaster new in June. It did not work properly from the beginning and continually got worse. It often would not load a CD-G and after several tries it might accept it but then would hesitate or stop completely while playing. Pretty embarrassing when you're in a gig.It would often play the wrong track. In September I called their tech support who had me take it to a local repair shop. It took Vocopro almost three weeks to send the replacement head that the technician said it needed. He also informed me that this is not the first one he has had to replace on a new unit becuase they are made with the cheapest componenents in China. This unit has a lot of features but , if they don't work, what good are they? I would be very reluctant to ever buy anything from Vocopro.

5GigMaster well worth the price!Mar 09, 2007
I've been a VocoPro equipment user for many years -- most recently the Bravo "self-contained" unit (since discontinued) and have been impressed with the GigMaster's performance. I use it for home and for parties and it delivers excellent sound -- even more so when hooked up for external 200W VocoPro vocal speakers. The S-Video hookup allows for high quality display and makes me wonder how I put up with coaxial connections for all these years. Unlike the Bravo, I have had no problems playing "non-standard" CD+G discs (including "home-made" versions) and the DVD feature is great for entertainment between Karaoke sets (think classic MTV videos on a special disc set). Love the delay/reverb feature for echo on songs that need it for effect. This unit is actually better and more versatile than many of the "pro sets" I see at local Karaoke pubs.

All in all, a great purchase at a very good price. Really don't think you can find better quality and value for around $500.

4Simple operationAug 25, 2006
The machine is very easy to operate and I use the key-changing feature frequently. I've used a Bravo and a Twister and this machine is comparable. I was a little disappointed in the audio output, and it is also difficult to "steer" with the attached handle. I prefer to transport it on a dolly. Overall, I am satisfied with the GigMaster.

5Awesome machineSep 26, 2005
I got the Gigmaster for smaller venues that didn't need a full on system. It has exceeded my expectations. It has all the bells and whistles and sounds awesome. The price was awesome too.
