Strategic Account Executive, Gwen Umphress brings more than 30 years’ experience in the healthcare space to the Drexi team. Her objective is to partner and strategize with brokers and clients regarding their pharmacy benefits. She is the quarterback of the account team and voice for clients. Gwen started her career as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, serving 16 years in the retail space. For the past 12 years, Gwen has worked for a traditional PBM, learning about the functionality of PBMs, assisting in account management, performing customer service and support, and processing prior authorizations and appeals. Prior to joining AMPS, Gwen most recently worked as an Account Manager, managing over 250 self-insured groups. As the first point of contact for her clients, she frequently ran reports and worked closely with PBM partners on plan changes and recommending/implementing cost savings programs. Gwen is a member of the Self-Insurance Institute of America, the Health Care Administrators Association, and the Society of Professional Benefit Administrators. She has an Associate of Arts degree in Office Administration with a Medical Specialty from Ivy Tech Community College.
